The UBOP's main objective is to apply bioinformatics to contribute to the development and implementation of precision oncology in clinical practice.
Specifically, it coordinates bioinformatics analyses of advanced molecular diagnostics through massive sequencing to find somatic, germline and other genomic alterations.
Additionally, the UBOP also actively contributes to the development and dissemination of bioinformatics as well as to establish and promote collaborative and multidisciplinary research between different specialties on campus.
